Description
Especially, for all lovers of herbs and spices at MallAgro, you will find Sage seeds, a medicinal and very fragrant herb.
Perennial dry and cold-resistant crop with gray-green leaves. This evergreen shrub is grown as a spice and herb in the same place for 4-5 years. The inflorescences synthesize and accumulate an essential oil with a fine and lasting aroma.
In the first year, it is appropriate to pick the leaves once – in September, and each subsequent year, pick the leaves of sage no more than three times a year when they reach a length of 8 cm.
Sage grows freely in dry and warm mountainous areas in the Mediterranean and Asia Minor. It reaches a height of 60 cm and is a drought-tolerant plant (its roots are highly developed and fibrous). Do not sow seeds in moist soils and when watering, be careful not to over-moisten. As for the composition of the soil, it is not very demanding. You can sow seeds in poorer soils, but it is good to nourish with suitable fertilizers. Seeding is in three stages: summer, late autumn (after October 15), and early spring sowing. It is recommended to sow the autumn-autumn sowing at a depth of 3 – 5 cm, since in this case the seeds do not need pre-sowing.
Seeding is done regularly at a distance between rows of 45 – 60 cm.
